Why I Choose Orange Color For Our Home Sweet Home

Since we've decided to have orange as our color motif for our house interior, I felt that I would love to stick with it.  Maybe we will just do some retouch whenever the paint color fades naturally over time but I would still stick to having orange for our home.  You might ask me, so what's good in orange?

My love for reading feng shui books had enabled me to have a better understanding of colors and how does color provides meaning to your homes.  I personally believe that colors are extremely powerful and can directly affect your moods aside from transforming your home instantly.  I find it extremely important to choose a color that suits your personality and life style.  We have to use our intuition in choosing the color that we will be using in our homes.  Remember that you and the color should blend naturally.  If you use the color just because feng shui expert says it will bring you abundance but you know for a fact that you hate that color, then that wouldn't make sense in the long run.  Remember that feng shui is all about harmony.

Color has been said to have a great influence on your physical and psychological well being.  In feng shui, orange represents the fire element just like red although it is less intense as compared to the former.  Did you ever notice that in most restaurants, orange is a predominant color?  This is so because orange is known to be appetizing aside from the fact that it is stimulating and signifies richness and warmth.  I just remembered that last December, we have invited our emcee/program coordinator for my daughter's debut party to come over the house so we could discuss over the details about the party and the program.  Once she gets in to the house, she remarked, "this house is nice and naturally inviting, I feel warm and wanted to stay longer here".  I was, of course, happy with her remarks and I suddenly thought that...could it be the color?

Well...I guess so, since she is not the first one to have said such comments. One thing I love about orange is that it creates excitement and exudes a friendly atmosphere.  It's cozy and has a cheerful and welcoming personality.  No doubt, most of the visitors experience the feeling of warmness and intimacy.  But again, this is my own personal preference and may not be to others liking but as I said, it is extremely important that there is a harmony between the home and the people living in it. :)

  1. I think what also contributes to warmness of your home is the way you accept people in your house. I believe that the attitude of the people who live in a house is more important than paint and style. Like you said, harmony is what's important.

  10. I don't religiously follow Feng Shui but I still follow it haha. I'm not sure if it's a coincidence i've been acquiring yellow things since January. I just felt it's my spirit color. And I'm right, it's my Prosperity color for 2015.

  14. Orange equals fun and summer. I haven't thought of orange as the main motiff but then again, my unit has RED and MAROON all over. I like the tiles where the entertainment set is located.

  15. Should I describe you as color fanatic? Hhhmm, it sounds not appropriate for it brings a unhealthy connotation. I would rather call you as a color enthusiast. I'm not too familiar with the meaning attached to every color, but the way you present it I'm inclined to believe that color could make or unmake one's personality. I like the orange you've selected as your color preference for the painting of your interior house. There's warmth in it.
